Well, not quite… it was hot and humid. My idea of paradise is slightly cooler and dryer. But it was still awesome!!

One of the first places we visited in Oahu was Foster Botanical Garden. Lots of interesting and exotic plants… and some mosquitoes… and this Totem pole carved by Chilkat Indians.

And of course we had to check out the famous Waikiki beach. Strolling along the beach, hand in hand, feet in the soft sand… the setting sun casting long shadows of us, making for a cool picture.

(It was actually quite crowded but this section just happened to be clear for a while…)

Before the sun went hiding behind the clouds, I turned around and took the last photo. I've seen many sunsets before this, but out first Hawaiian sunset was just magical.
